The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved Nasdaq's proposal to launch options based on a Bitcoin price index. These options will be cash-settled European-style options linked to the CME CF Bitcoin Real Time Index, offering U.S. stock market investors an alternative to Bitcoin ETF options for trading Bitcoin prices. According to SEC documents, the product has received accelerated approval but still requires final approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) before it can be officially listed.
