The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved a Nasdaq rule amendment allowing certain securities to be settled in tokenized form under the DTC's tokenization pilot framework. Eligible market participants can opt for tokenized settlement by marking their orders accordingly. The securities involved must share the same CUSIP, trading symbol, and rights and obligations as traditional securities, and will trade on the same order book with equal priority. Initially, the scope includes Russell 1000 index components and select major index ETFs.
