The US SEC has approved the Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe) to list binary option contracts linked to key performance indicators of listed companies. The approval covers more than 100 metrics across 23 firms, enabling traders to place yes/no bets on specific corporate data points such as Coinbase trading volume, MARA's Bitcoin production, and Robinhood's customer count and revenue.
Robinhood is expected to become the first broker to offer these products to retail investors and announced it will waive fees through the end of the year. While Cboe and Robinhood had previously targeted an October launch for the contracts, a specific listing date has not yet been confirmed.
