The Security Alliance (SEAL), a crypto crime investigation group, has introduced the Verifiable Phishing Reporter, a tool designed to enhance the reliability of phishing reports through cryptographic verification methods, including TLS attestations. This innovative system allows ethical hackers to inspect and document phishing pages as seen by real users, preventing attackers from manipulating content. The tool, which follows months of private beta testing, aims to address the persistent issue of phishing attacks, which accounted for over 1 million incidents in the first half of 2025, with losses reaching $395 million in Q2 alone. SEAL's new framework builds on existing initiatives like SEAL-911 and SEAL-ISAC, and it may set new standards in cybersecurity reporting by integrating verifiable TLS records into standard workflows. This development represents a significant step forward in the fight against phishing, offering a more secure and trustworthy method for reporting and analyzing phishing threats in the cryptocurrency sector.
