Scroll has proposed a protocol upgrade to transform its network into a permissioned, application-specific chain focused on privacy AI, while migrating its SCR token to the Ethereum mainnet. The proposal, published on Scroll's governance forum, asks the DAO to approve both changes simultaneously, with implementation led by the Scroll Foundation if passed.
The new network would support AI products including Compass, CENO, and USX, designed for private interactions, credential management, agent workflows, and payment settlement. According to the proposal, SCR's total supply and tokenomics will remain unchanged, and the token will retain its governance functions. The network upgrade is planned for year-end, and cross-chain bridge functionality will continue post-upgrade.
