Ethereum Layer 2 solution Scroll DAO plans to dissolve its decentralized security committee and transfer network control to accounts managed by its internal team within the next 10 days. The decision follows an evaluation that found the committee's costs disproportionate to its actual usage. Additionally, Scroll will reduce its contributor base and streamline its operations committee to cut costs. Earlier in April, Scroll increased the fees for publishing data to the Ethereum mainnet by approximately 1280 times over six days, resulting in users incurring over $50,000 in additional costs. This fee adjustment was reversed on April 9.
