Sberbank has obtained both digital depository and digital currency exchange registrations under Russia's new cryptocurrency legislation. The bank received its digital depository registration on October 6 and completed its regulatory compliance with the digital currency exchange license on October 12.
The state-owned lender is now positioned to launch its first cryptocurrency products, with services reportedly scheduled to go live on December 1. This dual registration makes Sberbank one of the first major financial institutions to achieve full operational authorization under the country's updated digital asset framework.
