The Russian Central Bank is set to launch the digital ruble on September 1, aiming to enhance anti-corruption measures and reduce reliance on the U.S. dollar in settlements. However, a recent survey indicates that 51% of Russian respondents are reluctant to adopt the digital currency, with only about one-third willing to "try" it. Furthermore, just 7% feel they have a comprehensive understanding of the project. Sberbank CEO German Gref has also expressed skepticism, questioning the necessity of the digital ruble both personally and as a bank executive.
