The Russian Ministry of Energy has drafted a government resolution to ban cryptocurrency mining in Moscow, Moscow Oblast, and parts of Kursk Oblast starting July 1, 2026, until December 31, 2032. The proposed ban will affect several municipalities and towns within Kursk Oblast. This move follows the Russian government's earlier decision to impose long-term mining bans in various regions, including parts of the North Caucasus, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, starting in 2025. Additionally, seasonal electricity restrictions in the Republic of Buryatia and Zabaykalsky Krai have been upgraded to long-term limitations.
