Benoît Pagotto, co-founder of the Web3 studio RTFKT, has died suddenly at the age of 41. The news was confirmed by fellow co-founder Steven Vasilev. Pagotto was instrumental in establishing RTFKT in 2020, a company renowned for its NFT sneaker collaborations with artists such as Takashi Murakami.
Under Pagotto's leadership, the Clone X project achieved nearly $120 million in NFT sales, making it the fourth highest-grossing NFT project historically. Following Nike's acquisition of RTFKT in 2021, Pagotto continued to contribute as a senior director, furthering the company's innovative pursuits in the digital space.
