Robinhood has clarified its position regarding OpenAI tokens, stating that these tokens allow investors to indirectly invest in OpenAI through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). A Robinhood spokesperson explained that the company does not directly hold OpenAI shares but instead holds them indirectly via the SPV, with the token price linked to the value of shares held by the SPV.
Currently, Robinhood, Bybit, and Kraken do not offer U.S. stock tokenization services to American customers. Meanwhile, Coinbase has applied to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a pilot program to provide such services, pending regulatory approval.
