NFT project Robin Guards has publicly accused over 100 Crypto Twitter influencers of faking engagement after a promotional campaign involving 200 KOLs with a combined following exceeding 10 million resulted in just 200 NFT sales — a conversion rate of approximately 0.002%.
The team said that after it stopped payments, some KOLs turned around and labeled the project a scam. Robin Guards named the influencers directly, alleging they purchased fake followers, used engagement pods to inflate metrics, and deployed AI-generated replies to simulate organic activity. The project also claimed that @grebby, who first accused Robin Guards of fraud, sells fake follower and engagement services himself, with several of the named KOLs among his clients.
