Ripple has introduced a new smart agent payment development kit for the XRP Ledger (XRPL), designed to facilitate AI-driven autonomous transactions. This toolkit enables developers to create automated payment applications that can handle computing power fees, invoice settlements, and transactions without human intervention. It supports the x402 protocol for native internet settlements using XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD). Despite these advancements, the IC3 research team notes that AI agents will still depend on human oversight and the underlying system infrastructure, preventing full autonomy and anonymity.
