Ripple has announced its intention to acquire BC Payments to secure an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL), aiming to strengthen its foothold in the Asia-Pacific region. This strategic move will allow Ripple to offer its Ripple Payments platform, which integrates traditional banking and cryptocurrency services, across Australia. Fiona Murray, Managing Director of Ripple Asia-Pacific, emphasized the importance of the Australian market and noted that the AFSL will significantly enhance Ripple's capacity to scale its payment solutions in the region.
