Ripple is advancing its European expansion strategy by seeking a license to operate in Luxembourg, following a meeting between Ripple's chief legal officer, Stuart Alderoty, and Luxembourg's finance minister, Gilles Roth. This move would enable Ripple to extend its services across the European Economic Area. The meeting comes as Luxembourg's sovereign wealth fund recently allocated 1% of its assets to cryptocurrency, becoming the first nation to invest in Bitcoin. Alderoty highlighted the European Union's leadership in digital asset regulation, particularly under the MiCA framework. Additionally, a MiCA-compliant euro stablecoin was launched on the XRP Ledger in May by Schuman Financial.
