Ripple has announced the expansion of its stablecoin RLUSD to Layer 2 networks, marking its first move beyond XRPL and Ethereum. The initiative involves collaboration with Wormhole's cross-chain interoperability protocol and the NTT token standard. Initial testing will occur on Optimism, Base, Ink, and Unichain. Ripple plans to extend RLUSD to additional chains next year, pending regulatory approval from the New York Department of Financial Services.
