Ripple has executed a significant burn of $120 million worth of its stablecoin, RLUSD, on the XRP Ledger, marking the second-largest intraday net burn in the stablecoin's history. The burn, which occurred on April 30, 2026, involved two transactions: $85 million at 15:46 UTC and $34.248 million at 21:24 UTC. This event follows a consistent pattern of month-end burns followed by large liquidity mints at the start of the following month. The RLUSD supply on the XRP Ledger has now decreased significantly, with only $253 million, or 17.5%, remaining on the ledger, while the majority, $1.191 million or 82.5%, is on Ethereum. Despite the reduced supply, RLUSD maintains its position as the eighth-largest stablecoin by market cap. Observers anticipate another substantial minting event in early May, continuing the trend seen in previous months.
