Revolut has launched a euro-pegged stablecoin called EURR, initially available to eligible users in Denmark, Poland and Portugal. The company plans to expand access to other European Economic Area markets within the year.
EURR will be integrated into the Revolut app, allowing users to convert between euros and on-chain crypto assets. Revolut said the token is the first step in its broader stablecoin strategy and plans to launch tokens pegged to other currencies in the future. EURR is issued and backed by reserve assets managed by Bridge, the stablecoin infrastructure company owned by Stripe.
