Japanese company Remixpoint has announced the cancellation of its planned ¥1.2 billion (approximately $7.75 million) investment in Web3-related businesses. The decision comes as the company cites difficulties in finding high-quality projects that align with its growth and risk-return expectations in the current market environment. Instead, the funds will be redirected towards battery and energy businesses.
Additionally, Remixpoint disclosed that out of the ¥5.976 billion (approximately $38.6 million) raised, ¥476,000 (approximately $30.74 million) was used to purchase Bitcoin, with the investment completed in June. The company also decided on October 23 to halt new equity financing for purchasing crypto assets to prevent share dilution and protect shareholder interests.
