Ranger Finance, a DeFi project within the Solana ecosystem, is set to gradually cease operations due to prolonged financial difficulties. Co-founder Barrett announced the decision on May 15, citing unsustainable operational and expansion costs, financing delays, and liquidity issues as key factors. The project also faced setbacks from the liquidation of treasury assets and the Drift incident, which further depleted its funds.
The financial strain has resulted in incomplete payments to some employees and vendors. Ranger Finance had previously raised $6 million through an ICO on MetaDAO on January 7, 2026, but these funds were insufficient to sustain its operations.
