Rakuten Wallet released a new Android app on October 14 that integrates spot and margin trading into a single platform, with an iOS version scheduled for future release. The exchange will discontinue its two existing standalone applications in early 2027 as part of the transition to the unified interface.
The updated application implements Passkey-only authentication and includes an AI virtual assistant capable of addressing market information and operational queries. Users can now also purchase cryptocurrencies directly using Rakuten Points within the new platform.
