Polymarket has opened "The Polymarket," New York City's first free grocery store, at 137 South 7th Avenue. This initiative, announced on February 12, allows New Yorkers to access groceries at no cost, with no purchase necessary. The store's launch is part of a broader competition between prediction market platforms Polymarket and Kalshi, both of which have recently engaged in promotional campaigns offering free food in New York. Kalshi previously held an event on February 3 at WestSide Market in Lower Manhattan, providing customers with $50 worth of free groceries, which attracted significant attention. In addition to opening the free grocery store, Polymarket has committed to donating $1 million to local food banks, further supporting the community.
