Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has accused cryptocurrency firm Zondacrypto, which has alleged ties to Russia, of funding President Karol Nawrocki's campaign and influencing regulatory decisions. Tusk claimed in parliament that Zondacrypto, linked to the Russian mafia and intelligence agencies, sponsored the 2025 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Poland, where then-U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem endorsed Nawrocki.
Tusk further alleged that President Nawrocki vetoed a cryptocurrency regulation bill twice in the past six months to protect Zondacrypto's interests. In response, the President's office stated that Nawrocki supports regulation but finds the current government proposal flawed. The Polish government is working to align its crypto regulations with EU standards.
