Police have issued a warning about a prevalent scam where fraudsters persuade victims to open cryptocurrency accounts and purchase digital assets. The scammers then instruct victims to transfer these assets to wallets under the fraudsters' control or to disclose their mnemonic phrases. Due to the irreversible nature of cryptocurrency transactions, once the assets are transferred, they are often difficult to recover.
