Pi Network has announced a strategic move into the AI sector, leveraging its globally distributed, identity-verified workforce to address key challenges in AI development. The network has completed over 526 million tasks through its KYC system, involving more than 1 million verified individuals across 200 countries. This infrastructure is positioned to solve AI companies' issues of scale, authenticity, and cost by providing verified human input and decentralized computing resources. The Pi Core Team's strategy includes using $PI tokens as a global payment system for distributed human work, enhancing the utility of the token beyond speculation. Pi's infrastructure, comprising 421,000 active nodes, has demonstrated its capability to handle AI workloads, offering a decentralized compute layer for AI tasks. This initiative will be highlighted at Consensus 2026 in Miami, where Pi's founders will present their AI vision to a global audience, potentially increasing demand for $PI as a payment currency in AI applications.
