Pi Network has announced April 6 as the deadline for its Protocol v21.2 upgrade, marking a significant milestone in its development. This mandatory update is crucial for security and compatibility, requiring all Mainnet node operators to comply to avoid disconnection from the network. The upgrade aims to unify the network and enhance scalability, coinciding with Pi Network reaching 18 million verified users. The upgrade is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the network's core, preparing it for increased transaction volumes and future features like Pi DEX and DeFi tools. Following this, Pi Network plans further upgrades with Protocol v22.1 on April 22 and Protocol v23.0 on May 18, which will introduce smart contract support and Web3 functionality.
