Phishing ads mimicking the Uniswap protocol have surfaced in Google search results, leading to the theft of over $400,000. On-chain analyst b-block revealed that these fraudulent websites are siphoning funds from various wallets, with implicated addresses holding 146 ETH, valued at approximately $306,000. Security Alliance (SEAL) highlighted that such deceptive Google ads are a frequent phishing method, with attackers either buying ad placements or hijacking legitimate accounts to impersonate popular crypto platforms. SEAL reported that from March 13 to March 30, these scams caused losses totaling $1.27 million.
