A new phishing group known as 'CryptoHook' has stolen over $2 million in cryptocurrencies by targeting digital wallets. The gang employs advanced social engineering and phishing techniques, including spoofed emails and fake security alerts, to deceive users into revealing their login credentials. Victims are directed to cloned websites that mimic legitimate platforms. To safeguard against these attacks, users are advised to verify the authenticity of communications, enable multi-factor authentication, and utilize hardware wallets for enhanced security. Those affected should immediately disconnect from the internet, change their passwords, and report the incident to authorities.
