The Philippines has introduced Integrity Chain, a blockchain platform developed by BayaniChain, to enhance transparency in public spending. Launched on September 21, 2025, the platform aims to track government contracts and project stages using tamper-proof digital assets, with data sourced from the Department of Public Works and Highways. This initiative comes in response to public concerns over alleged corruption in flood control projects, where over $33 billion was reportedly misused over 15 years.
Integrity Chain employs Prismo for data encryption and utilizes the Polygon network for consensus and transparency. The system enables real-time monitoring by citizens and independent validators, with plans to extend its application to other government agencies. BayaniChain co-founders Paul Soliman and Gelo Wong highlighted the platform's potential to safeguard the entire $98 billion annual budget and mitigate corruption risks through cryptographic security and open validation.
