Perrone Robotics has initiated a federal lawsuit against Tesla, accusing the electric vehicle manufacturer of infringing on five patents related to its Autopilot and self-driving technologies. Filed in the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Virginia, the lawsuit alleges that Tesla has utilized Perrone's proprietary robotics operating system technology in all Autopilot-equipped models over the past six years. The legal action claims that one of the patents was offered to Tesla for purchase in 2017, but the automaker did not proceed with the acquisition. Perrone Robotics is seeking unspecified damages and an injunction to prevent further use of the disputed technology. Tesla has not yet issued a response to the allegations.
