Payward-backed fintech Reap is expanding its stablecoin strategy beyond USD to enable round-the-clock cross-border foreign exchange settlement in local currencies. The company plans to launch a Mexican peso token first, leveraging its VPIM licenses in Hong Kong and Mexico, with future consideration for HKD, EUR, KRW, and JPY stablecoins to provide localized, cost-efficient settlement outside traditional banking hours. Reap is integrating stablecoin settlement into a broader product suite that includes cards, cross-border payouts, treasury tools, and compliance controls. The company reported card and payments volume grew 33% year-over-year in H1 2026, following tripled revenue and volume in 2025. While Visa operates at the network level, Reap manages regulated card issuance and compliance, complementing rather than replacing conventional payment systems.
