PayPal has announced it will offer free self-service tax filing services for users of its debit cards, including the submission of 2025 federal and state tax returns for PayPal Debit Mastercard holders. Starting with the 2025 tax year, PayPal will send IRS Form 1099-DA to users who dispose of cryptocurrency in their PayPal wallets, such as through sales or exchanges, by February 15. This move aligns with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service's requirement for digital asset brokers to report gains from digital asset dispositions.
