French cryptocurrency platform Paymium has received the EU MiCA license from the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF), allowing it to continue offering crypto asset trading services across the EU once the new regulations take effect. Established in 2011, Paymium claims to be the only platform operating a crypto asset exchange in France, serving over 230,000 global clients, including individuals and institutions. The MiCA regulations are set to be fully implemented by the end of 2024. Platforms that do not obtain authorization from their national regulatory bodies by June 30 will be required to cease operations. Currently, only about 20 companies in France have been approved, with approximately 50 yet to apply, while around 200 companies across Europe have been certified.
