Parasite Pool, a Bitcoin mining pool focused on home miners, has successfully mined its second block at height 945,601 on April 21. This achievement comes 48 days after the pool mined its first block. Founded by ZK Shark, the creator of Ordinal Maxi Biz, Parasite Pool uses a hybrid distribution model where the miner who finds the block receives a direct reward of 1 BTC. The remaining 2.125 BTC and transaction fees are distributed proportionally to all participants via the Lightning Network. The pool currently operates with a hash rate of approximately 52 PH/s, accounting for about 0.005% of Bitcoin's total network hash rate. Notably, Parasite Pool charges no fees for its services, making it an attractive option for home miners. This development highlights the growing interest and participation of smaller miners in the Bitcoin network.
