Paradigm has led a $25 million Series A funding round in Doma, formerly known as D3 Global, to advance DomainFi, a new real-world asset (RWA) initiative. This project focuses on the tokenization and financialization of Web2 top-level domains. Doma's key asset, software.ai, will be launched with a bonding curve mechanism and a $250,000 buyout floor, designed to enhance liquidity and provide exit strategies for investors. The DomainFi platform integrates on-chain tokenization with off-chain legal compliance, utilizing a dual-token system (DOT and DST) to delineate ownership and control rights. Despite its innovative approach, the platform must navigate challenges such as centralized custody, UDRP legal issues, and potential scrutiny from the SEC.
