The Over Foundation has announced the permanent shutdown of all Over Protocol services due to financial constraints. Effective April 28, the closure affects OverWallet, OverNode, OverFlex, RPC nodes, block explorers, and related APIs, with no plans for future restoration. Over Protocol, a Layer 1 mainnet, was designed for decentralization, but its sustainability is now uncertain as block production relies on independent validators continuing to run the open-source client. The foundation expressed gratitude for the community's support and regret over its inability to continue the project. The original goal was to empower ordinary users to contribute to building the Layer 1 network, but financial challenges have halted these efforts.
