In October 2025, Solana experienced a surge in sandwich attacks, resulting in the theft of over 864 SOL tokens, valued at more than $3.2 million, from over 15,000 victims. Attackers exploited transaction ordering across multiple slots to gain profits through priority fees. In response to these malicious activities, Jito has banned 15 validators involved in such MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) activities. This follows the Solana Foundation's earlier action in 2024, where over 30 validators were removed to combat similar issues.
