Opera's stablecoin wallet, MiniPay, has introduced a new local payment feature for users in Argentina and Brazil. This integration allows transactions using USDT through the PIX and Mercado Pago systems without needing an intermediary exchange. Users can make purchases by scanning a QR code, with the system converting stablecoins to local currencies instantly via the Noah backend. Merchants receive payments in local currency. MiniPay aims to expand this service to additional Latin American and Canadian markets, collaborating with El Dorado, AlfredPay, and Paytrie for onboarding and offboarding services.
