OpenAI has entered the hardware market with the release of the $230 Codex Micro keyboard, designed for its AI coding assistant, Codex. Developed in collaboration with Work Louder, the keyboard includes illuminated keys to indicate agent status, shortcut keys for Codex operations, a joystick for workflow management, and a dial to adjust the AI's reasoning level. The device can be customized through the ChatGPT desktop app. This launch comes amid legal tensions, as Apple has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing it of using confidential information to develop hardware. OpenAI has denied these allegations.
