Open Standard has restructured its leadership and secured backing from Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa as founding partners for its upcoming Open USD (OUSD) stablecoin. The consortium will invest in the company and provide over $1 billion in initial launch liquidity to support OUSD's deployment across banking, cross-border payments, settlement, and institutional trading use cases.
Zach Abrams has been appointed full-time CEO of Open Standard, transitioning from his dual role leading both Bridge and Open Standard. Abrams previously led product teams at Square, Coinbase, and Brex before founding the stablecoin orchestration platform Bridge. Founding partners will receive equity based on platform activity and supply generation once OUSD goes live, with a founder-led board established to represent shareholders.
