OP Labs has launched Privacy Boost, a new privacy-focused product aimed at attracting more enterprises to the Ethereum ecosystem, starting with its OP Mainnet. The product introduces privacy-enhancing technology that supports private transfers and confidential interactions while meeting regulatory requirements. Privacy Boost is a software development kit and API designed to facilitate secure communication and data sharing between software programs.
The initiative addresses the challenge of public transaction visibility, which has been a barrier for traditional companies exploring blockchain solutions. Privacy Boost employs zero-knowledge proofs and a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) to enable fast, private transactions, customizable to comply with "Know Your Customer" (KYC) and audit requirements. OP Labs plans to expand Privacy Boost to additional networks in the coming weeks, aiming to create a privacy layer accessible to any protocol, beyond its current support for leading DeFi applications like Aave.
