Ontology has announced the official launch of its mainnet version v3.0.0 on December 1, 2025. Node operators must upgrade to this version by 08:00 (UTC+8) on December 3 to prevent service interruptions. The upgrade will introduce changes to the Ontology Gas (ONG) supply, with the total and maximum supply being reduced from 1 billion to 800 million tokens. This includes an immediate burn of 200 million tokens. Although the circulating supply of ONG will remain unchanged initially, a permanent lock-up mechanism may limit the future supply cap to 750 million tokens.
