Justin Waldron, co-founder of Zynga, has announced the launch of the Open Game Protocol (OG Protocol), a blockchain-agnostic application layer designed to integrate any token with any game. This initiative allows game developers to reward players with tokens without needing blockchain expertise. The protocol offers token communities the ability to create reward pools for players, providing developers with a cost-effective alternative to traditional advertising. Initially launching on Solana, OG Protocol plans to expand to EVM blockchains and integrate with crypto wallets through a 'play button' feature. Approximately 30-40 wallet partners have shown interest in this integration.
