The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has expanded its sanctions list against ISIS-K, adding 134 cryptocurrency wallet addresses. Of these, 131 are on the TRON blockchain and three are Monero addresses. These TRON wallets have reportedly received over $1.4 million since 2023, with $880,000 transferred out, some to Syrian crypto exchangers. Tether has responded by freezing the balances of all 131 TRON addresses.
In a related move, OFAC sanctioned two Brazilian individuals and four companies linked to the criminal organization "Primeiro Comando da Capital" (PCC). They are accused of using cryptocurrency to transfer over $30 million in illicit funds from the U.S. to Brazil.
