The Odyssey information-stealing Trojan has recently intensified its attacks on macOS users, impacting over 100 countries, according to Moonlock Lab. This malicious software is capable of extracting browser passwords, cookies, and autofill data from browsers like Chrome, Brave, and Edge. It also targets crypto wallets, stealing files from over 16 applications including Electrum, Exodus, and Ledger Live, and compromising around 300 crypto extension IDs.
Additionally, Odyssey can harvest SSH keys, cloud service configurations, Keychain databases, and data from Telegram and Discord. It installs a background service that auto-starts at boot and replaces applications such as Ledger, Trezor, and Exodus with trojanized versions to steal assets. The command and control server address for this Trojan has been publicly disclosed, raising concerns about its widespread impact.
