Greg Cipolaro, head of global research at NYDIG, stated on December 13 that the tokenization of stocks is unlikely to rapidly increase the cryptocurrency market capitalization. Cipolaro emphasized that while blockchain integration could eventually lead to gains, these will materialize gradually. Initial benefits may arise from transaction fees, particularly for Ethereum and similar networks, as they achieve greater interoperability. Cipolaro also highlighted that the integration of real-world assets into decentralized finance (DeFi) is a possibility, but it requires advancements in technology, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks. The process of incorporating these assets into the crypto ecosystem will be slow, as the necessary conditions must first be met.
