Nvidia has launched Halos for Robotics, marking the first full-stack open safety system designed for robots and 'physical AI.' This new system extends Nvidia's Halos safety architecture, previously used in autonomous driving, to industrial robotics. It features industrial-grade AI compute and sensor connectivity through IGX Thor and Holoscan Sensor Bridge, and supports safety functions with Halos OS and the Outside-In Safety Blueprint. The system is designed to assist enterprises in achieving third-party certifications, including TÜV Rheinland and UL Solutions.
Agility, a humanoid robot company, will be the first to integrate Nvidia's IGX Thor and Halos Core into its industrial humanoid robot, Digit. This integration aims to enhance safe human-robot collaboration in environments such as factories, warehouses, and logistics operations.
