Nvidia has announced a £500 million investment in Nscale, a UK-based AI infrastructure firm spun off from crypto mining company Arkon Energy. This investment is part of a broader AI infrastructure initiative valued at up to £11 billion. Nscale, which focuses on data centers tailored for AI and data-intensive tasks, has partnerships with major tech firms like Microsoft and OpenAI.
Nscale, which emerged just 16 months ago, has been rapidly expanding its operations. Last December, it secured $155 million in funding from Sandton Capital Partners, followed by a £2 billion investment in UK computing facilities. The company is also collaborating with Open Innovation AI from the UAE, although specific funding details remain undisclosed.
