Mythos, known for its potent capabilities in discovering and exploiting software vulnerabilities, is typically reserved for select organizations to bolster defense systems. However, the NSA's alleged use of the model for offensive purposes has led to legal disputes between the U.S. government and Anthropic. Additionally, Cloudflare has highlighted that a significant portion of current network traffic is generated by AI agents, including some malicious bots. While these open-source models are not as advanced as Mythos, they are rapidly closing the gap, trailing cutting-edge systems by less than a year.
