MetaMask's parent company, Consensys, has reported a security incident involving a North Korean hacker infiltrating their team. The hacker, identified as Tyler Knapp, joined MetaMask through a long-term HR supplier, bypassing direct recruitment background checks. During his month-long tenure, he worked on the wallet's fiat on-ramp and off-ramp features. The hacker was detected by the company's security monitoring due to unusual IP and behavior patterns. Consensys immediately revoked his access and halted all product releases he was involved with. According to Matt Corva, Consensys' legal head, no data or funds were compromised.
